Game Planning

[ Neutral Mood: Neutral ]
Putting together a new campaign setting from scratch is always an odd project. Right now I am doing a little work on my Twin Peaks meets Silent Hill game called Ashen Falls. I’ve got the meta plot planned out and the first few scenarios. There is something of a sandbox element to it, which I like but also requires some extra work. I’m using the Savage Worlds rule set for the game and that is taking some minor tweaking as well. So you do this extra work in the hopes that people will like your baby as much as you do, but you never really know until you sit down and play that first session.

Interviews

Now that I’ve got the David Wong interview out there I’m still working on getting the prolific and very busy Tony Todd interview. He’s working now on another show for NBC called ‘The Event’ so scheduling is kind of hard. Then I am going to try and catch John Billingsley (Voyager, X Files, a million other things) and then I have my sights set on a great white shark of zombie-ton but I want that one to be a surprise. I’m kind of digging on this whole interview thing, I might keep after it for awhile.

[ Scared Mood: Scared ]
Sometimes when I read posts and blogs and comments around here I start to get this eerie feeling that me and Sneezy are the same person. Kind of like a weird ‘Fight Club’ kind of thing…

Shake it off Matt, shake it off. You are you.

The ‘King-ening’

[ Amused Mood: Amused ]
Every other Stephen King story.

-A troubled writer has an unresolved problem.

-A mysterious kid (perhaps learning disabled) has psychic powers.

-There is a love interest but it is largely incidental.

-The writer doubts himself so much that others have to rally to his defense!

-The writer triumphs over whatever King has concocted for him to deal with!

-Some sort of bitter-sweet crap ending.
