What is remarkable is not just that they have literally thousands of vintage photos available online, but they&#8217;re all meticulously annotated.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to show some thumbnails of the photos they have available, but the society has made it very clear that they don&#8217;t take kindly to that. In fact the website states quite plainly that they expect a hundred bucks for every photo that I reproduce.<\/p>\n<p>But the motherfuckers didn&#8217;t say I couldn&#8217;t reproduce their <span style=\"font-style: italic\">descriptions<\/span> of the photos.<\/p>\n<p>They have a fun and weird gallery of some 82 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wisconsinhistory.org\/whi\/feature\/talltales\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">photo-doctored postcards.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&quot;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wisconsinhistory.org\/whi\/fullRecord.asp?id=44444&amp;amp;qstring=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ewisconsinhistory%2Eorg%2Fwhi%2Fresults%2Easp%3Fpageno%3D2%26keyword1%3Dexaggerated%2Bpostcards%26keyword2%3D%26keyword3%3D%26search%5Ffield1%3Dcollection%255Fname%26search%5Ffield2%3D%26search%5Ffield3%3D%26boolean%5Ftype1%3Dand%26boolean%5Ftype2%3Dand%26subject%5Fbroad%5Fid%3D%26subject%5Fbroad%3D%26subject%5Fnarrow%5Fid%3D%26subject%5Fnarrow%3D%26decade%3D%26genre%3D%26genre%5Ftext%3D%26wi%5Fcounty%5Fcode%3D%26wi%5Fcounty%5Ftext%3D%26added%5Fwithin%3D%26sort%5Fby%3Ddate%26search%5Ftype%3Dadvanced%26results%5Frelevancy%3D\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">A group of men on a lakeshore grapple with a giant pike.
