I ran across this website<\/a> about Masonry today. It lists, in excruciating detail, all the reasons why people hate Masons, and then says they’re wrong. Very often the site uses the phrase "nothing could be further from the truth" without any evidential backup.<\/p>\n

The subjects are loony, gun-show pamphlet fare. They talk about the Baphomet<\/a>, or Satanic goat head. Or the quote by "Scottish Rite" honcho Albert Pike about the wondrousness of Lucifer<\/a>. Apparently there’s no reason for us to believe that the Washington monument<\/a> is a phallic totem for the Masons. And rest assured that the Masonic interest in eschatology<\/a> and a homemade architect god<\/a> are purely innocent in nature.<\/p>\n

Having not known about any of this before masonicinfo.com debunked it, I’m actually feeling slightly uneasy about this whole fraternal order thing.
