During the days it&#8217;s heavy on the senior citizens, and during the late nights it&#8217;s heavy on  the cops.<\/p>\n<p>I ordered the mini-burgers and onion rings.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/179032356549a38cfbed8d3.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nAlthough they look like crappy NewCastle sliders, the mini-burgers actually have <span style=\"font-style: italic\">double-meat<\/span> and they&#8217;re topped with thousand island dressing. The onion rings were specifically recommended to me. The onions are sliced as thinly as physically possible, so what you end up with is a side dish that&#8217;s about 80% grease and batter.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been experimenting, trying to reproduce the green, creamy salsa of a taco cart, but I&#8217;ve found only modest success.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/163664247149a38cecd02ff.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nContaining an entire bunch of cilantro, peppers, tomatillos, lemon, and spinach, this salsa verde tastes okay, but it doesn&#8217;t taste taco cart okay.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some spicy Indian snack balls, backlit so you can appreciate their grease content:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/164617610249a38cf34ab3d.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are two world-class culinary traditions that have come out of Wisconsin. One is Ed Gein, the other is Culvers.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/130224461149a38ce4f210e.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/119116670049a38cddb78cc.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nBecause it&#8217;s lent, the Culvers here in Austin is serving walleye, the consensus most delicious freshwater fish in the world.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/47057151449a38d1d2543a.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nHere it is battered and deep-fried:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/128925517849a38cd5c036f.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nWalleye tastes like catfish, if catfish wasn&#8217;t a disgusting wad of filth.<\/p>\n<p>Of course I ordered the cheese curds as a side, which were supremely disappointing. They were served almost cold. Plus I prefer the cheddar variety over the mozzarella.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/213447108549a38ccf6ca96.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nAt least they came with ranch dressing, the only proper way to eat cheese curds. <br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/5\/104450548049a38cc7d6cb2.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nIn case I wasn&#8217;t stuffed enough, I also ordered the frozen custard, which is better than icecream.
