For months I had this half-finished project cluttering up my desk. Then the other night I finished it up.

\nIt’s an audio amp inside a coffeecan. <\/p>\n

Now, even as I was making it, I was thinking, why am I putting several hours of work into this? I was making from scratch something that I could buy at Goodwill for a couple of bucks. And the Goodwill version would work far better.

\nAt the very back you can see the pumpkinseed-sized audio amp IC chip that is the core of the project. Everything else is just a peripheral.<\/p>\n

Then I found myself doing another totally ridiculous project. Making moss terrariums.
\n
\nEven as I put them together, I thought to myself, there’s no way I’m keeping these.<\/p>\n

This one has shells inside it.
\n
\nGot them for a buck at the dollar store.<\/p>\n

This one has a tiny forest of crystals.
\n
\nLike an alien planet or something!<\/p>\n
