After a lifetime of hard-won experience, I have learned that meteor showers are never as exciting as the hype. If they say &quot;there may be 300 meteors an hour&quot;, that means that you might see one or two before you run out of hot chocolate and have to head in. <\/p>\n<p>So we found a spot out east of town, which was actually pretty popular with the meteor watchers. There was a little gypsy village of pickup trucks and cars by the side of the road.
