"Nova Atlantis" is meant to be an homage to both Francis Bacon’s 17th-century utopia, New Atlantis, and Ursula Le Guin’s excellent 1975 short story of the same name.

As a big Iain M. Banks fan, I would’ve called it "The Culture," but wgk333 beat me to it!
