For the uninformed, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mri\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">M<\/span>agnetic <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">R<\/span>esonance <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">I<\/span>maging<\/a> takes amazingly detailed pictures of the body&#8217;s interior especially the soft tissue.  Since I have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalmssociety.org\/about-multiple-sclerosis\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">multiple sclerosis<\/a> and take the relatively new drug <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalmssociety.org\/about-multiple-sclerosis\/treatments\/medications\/natalizumab\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">Tysabri<\/a>, my doctor likes me to get a new brain scan every six months.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/b\/bd\/Modern_3T_MRI.JPG\/350px-Modern_3T_MRI.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Basically, I am placed in a narrow tube and must remain motionless as this loud clanging noise moves around me.  This device is a nightmare for claustrophobic people.  The top wall of the tube is but two inches from my eyes and I can&#8217;t move my shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, it is a relatively short procedure&#8211; about 45 minutes&#8211; and painless.<\/p>\n<p>Below are some of the actual scans of my brain.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/2033793761492e1e0ea0805.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/1704561210492e1e287a4b3.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/1783757349492e1e04a033b.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>YUM!
