The new magazine employed a similar format, using many of the same artists of the previous Warren publication &#8212; Joe Orlando, Reed Crandall, John Severin, Al Williamson, Gray Morrow, Russ Heath, Alex Toth, and Wally Wood. Like <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Creepy<\/span>, <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Blazing Combat<\/span> also featured Frank Frazetta covers, and Goodwin scripts in a magazine format. But unlike its predecessor, <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Blazing Combat<\/span> died an ignoble death after just four issues. Fantagraphics collects the complete run and outlines the whole sordid history via interviews with Warren and Goodwin in the handsome hardback <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Blazing Combat<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><span class=\"postbody\"> <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sfsite.com\/images\/graphica\/blazingcombat300.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<table width=\"90%\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"center\">\n<tr>\n<td><span class=\"genmed\"><b>Quote:<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"quote\">Following the 1973 cancellation of his Fourth World titles (<span style=\"font-style: italic\">New Gods<\/span>, <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Forever People<\/span>, <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Mister Miracle<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Jimmy Olsen<\/span>), Jack Kirby created several new titles for DC (<span style=\"font-style: italic\">Kamandi<\/span>, <span style=\"font-style: italic\">The Demon<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-style: italic\">OMAC<\/span>). In 1974, he also assumed the mantle on one existing title: <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Our Fighting Forces<\/span>.
