Toss in the Netflix description and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/shows\/ugly_americans\/index.jhtml\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-style: italic\">Ugly Americans<\/span><\/a> becomes a must watch.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<table width=\"90%\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"center\">\n<tr>\n<td><span class=\"genmed\"><b>Quote:<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"quote\">In a New York City neighborhood chockablock with mythical creatures \u2014 from vampires and werewolves to mermaids and fairies \u2014 civil servant Mark Lilly is assigned the unenviable task of &ldquo;humanizing&rdquo; them in this Comedy Channel animated series.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><span class=\"postbody\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/images\/shows\/ugly_americans\/v_images\/about_v8.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Using 2D animation in a crude style reminiscent of EC Comics, creator Devin Clark stocks his monster-infused alternate New York with fascinating characters.<\/p>\n<ul><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/images\/shows\/ugly_americans\/r_images\/ugly_randall_r3.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: normal\">M<\/span>ark\u2019s roommate Randall became a zombie in an attempt to win over a cute girl with a zombie fixation. Sadly for him, she already redirected her affections to warlocks.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/images\/shows\/ugly_americans\/r_images\/ugly_callie_r3.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: normal\">C<\/span>allie Maggotbone, Mark\u2019s on-again\/off-again girlfriend and immediate superior, alternately berates and desires him. Not terribly shocking considering her father is a demon and her mother human.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/images\/shows\/ugly_americans\/r_images\/ugly_leonard_r3.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: normal\">5<\/span>00 year old wizard Leonard Powers works with Mark at New York\u2019s Department of Integration. At least when he\u2019s sober enough to do his job.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/images\/shows\/ugly_americans\/r_images\/ugly_twayne_r3.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><span style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: normal\">T<\/span>he demonic mid-level bureaucratic head of the Department of Integration, Twayne Boneraper despises Social Services. He reduces the department, leaving Mark and Leonard as the two case workers.<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clark with the aid of former <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Simpsons<\/span> scribe David M. Stern, who helped develop the show from its original incarnation as the web series <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atom.com\/channel\/channel_five_on\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-style: italic\">5 On with Alan Whiter<\/span><\/a>, delivers more than a monster of the week. Each episode concentrates on real world socio-political issues such as government downsizing, homosexuality, immigration, education, unemployment, war, and unwanted children and the far more personal including roommates, intimacy, jealousy, elitism, and trust. The series creatively mergers our actual history within the tableaux of this made up world. The Vietnam War is re-envisioned as the Human-Zombie Civil Wars and the legendary 19th century New York gang fights changes into a conflict between vampires and the Irish.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/0.tqn.com\/d\/animatedtv\/1\/7\/I\/1\/1\/ugly-americans-1.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Two seasons (the first of 14 episodes and the second with 10) have appeared on Comedy Central. The entire first season is now <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.netflix.com\/WiMovie\/Ugly_Americans\/70195797\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">streaming via Netflix<\/a>.
