How else could you explain #18 Excalibur  finishing higher than Dagger of Time (from Prince of Persia #17), Sword of Omens (from Thundercats #11), and He-Man\u2019s Power Sword(#2!!!).  Missing weapons that were apparently too cool for a list that put He-Man\u2019s sword at #2(!) and Mr. Freeze\u2019s Gun at #12 include: <\/p>\n<ul><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nautilus_%28Verne%29\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nautilus<\/span><\/a>\u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Captain_Nemo\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">Captain Nemo<\/a>\u2018s legendary Victorian era nuclear submarine from Jules Verne\u2019s <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea<\/span> and <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Mysterious Island<\/span>.  Nemo and his sub recently returned to geek prominence in <span style=\"font-style: italic\">The League of Extraordinary Gentleman<\/span> graphic novels. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/20098906744758847f22d4a.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bolo_%28tank%29\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bolo<\/span><\/a>\u2013 Artificially intelligent super-heavy tank from the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Keith_Laumer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">Keith Laumer<\/a> novels of the same name <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/244154536475885f51fb16.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Wonder Woman\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Magic_lasso\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">Magic Lasso<\/a><\/span>\u2013 This is a no brainer. Not all weapons need to blow things up or draw blood.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/1693538249475887a2ded3a.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Smart Bomb<\/span>\u2013 The ultimate weapon that destroys everything on your video game screen, made its first appearance in the classic <a href=\"http:\/\/gameasylum.us\/defender.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Defender<\/span><\/a>.  Shouldn\u2019t the ultimate weapon be on a list touting itself as the Ultimate Weapon list?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/765670856475882227d96c.png\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Oxygen Destroyer<\/span>\u2013 As any geek worth his\/her salt will tell you, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Godzilla\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">Godzilla<\/a> died at the end of the original <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oxygen_Destroyer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">1954 film<\/a>.  The Oxygen Destroyer completely dissolved the future &ldquo;King of the Monsters.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/73389148847588882ec1a3.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Necronomicon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Necronomicon<\/span><\/a>\u2013 The legendary book, created by H. P. Lovecraft, holds the key to other dimensions and can grant a knowledgeable necromancer immense power for the mere price of their immortal soul. (I wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfsite.com\/columns\/geeks190.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"postlink\">a piece<\/a> a few years back about this non-existent book)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.revolutionsf.com\/bb\/weblogs\/upload\/16\/95966828147588976a0d71.jpg\" border=\"0\"\/><\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019m sure there are plenty of others.
