This week I'm doing Nerd Bowl in the RevSF poll. I'll change it out often, so vote early and vote often. We'll do the playoffs, then the winners will face each other.

The contestants will be teams from nerd-related movies and TV from the year 2009 until now.

I voted for the Heroes, cause Sylar would just pop Anna's heads off and suck out her reptilian brains.

Then he could give her minions that bliss thing and take over the lizard army.

The first playoff is decided: The Heroes from HEROES squeak by the new Visitors from the new V, 58 to 42 percent.

There will be 4 playoff matches in round 1, and that was the first one. Here's the next one:

The Na'Vi vs. Chuck.

Total blowout in game 3, the District 9 aliens vs. the Paranormal Activity lady.

Next up: The Others vs. the Autobots.

So, should I do another 4-match playoff with 8 new contestants, or head straight to the semis?

Stunned! I am stunned at the results so far in the Nerd Bowl poll.

The majority of voters think the great Chuck Bartowski would not find a way to beat the District 9 aliens.

That is inscrutable.

That's why I asked if voting should be based on love or skill.

Chuck is awesome, but his alien-fighting skills are a bit limited. I imagine he'd concentrate on getting his friends to safety and then try to run away if he found himself in District 9. If being successful in that would be considered "beating" them, then my vote might have been different.
