Did anybody watch this show on the BBC?

I'm not much of one for Brit TV...their sensabilities are so different from mine...but this one managed to grab me.

The premise...there are wormholes opening into the past, letting dinosaurs and other prehistoric...and POST historic...creatures into our world. Our heros hunt them down and throw them back into their own times before the public finds out. But someone is obviously controlling the wormholes...what is their purpose??

The special effects are rudimary...ok...less than average. But somehow the cast of characters managed to catch me.

I'm looking forward to next season.

I've seen one ep of it (pausing to spit in general direction of ComCRAP for providing such lousy digital service), and I liked it as well. Effects could've been better, but nowhere near Skiffy-standards.

It has a new monster every week. I haven't been this excited about
seeing something since the Tremors series. ( Which I quite
liked. I also own VHS copies of the entire UltramanUltra
Seven,
and Space Giants so I got the street cred, yo.

( Regretably, I do not have the Night Stalker series at all,
and this makes me sadder than you can ever know. )

I liked the first few eps but...

...then they did this real weird re-boot thing.

I didn't care for the ditzied up new version of Lucy Brown 2.0. And the whole Helen Cutter suddenly becoming all EVIL was a definite WTF?

And how does a baby future predator going to triassic era cause the timeline to change just enough to cause Stephen to sleep with Nicks wife, a new building to be built, and Brown to change characters, but nothing else changed?

It almost feels like after 4 episodes the writers went "oops forgot someting, lets start over"

You are right, John, most of those things bothered me, too, except for Helen Cutter, I think she was always evil. But I just chalked that up to English sensabilites. To me, their storytelling is always doing that kind of...um...crap. But the story premise still held for me.

At first she was all "this is amazing, you have to see this" which made sense for a palentologist/scientist that went back in time. But then this Secret group within the secret org. story arc started and suddenly she is the EVIL GENIUS behind it all.

And also weird was the more evil she became, the more clevage she exposed. One episode she is all 3 layers of outdoorsey western wear, then it's bustier under a camo jacket. I am a big fan of clevage but it just seemed contrived somehow.

Yeah, but if you also noticed, she started showing more cleavage when Hannah Spearrit stopped wandering around in just her little panties.

Boy, it's nice to talk in depth about the serious issues and the deeper meanings of sci-fi TV with knowledgable people. Shocked

In all things, there must be balance...didn't you guys watch The Karate Kid?

And speaking of that movie, with regard to cleavage... Hubba hubba.
