Geeks and geekettes, I am proud to announce our Big New Thang, the RevolutionSF Revcast Roundtable, which you can find here. Just added: The Halloween episode, in which we discuss the current sad state of vampires in TV and fiction, and our thoughts on how to make them scary again.

Also on the same page, you can find earlier Revcasts of interviews and story readings, all in nice, simple, DRM-free MP3 format..

From here on out, the plan is to be producing quite a few of these, one a week at minimum, and often more. There will be three types of Revcast:

Revcast Roundtable: This is where a few of us get together on a Skype conference call, to discuss news and our own nerdliness before launching into a topic into which we dig our teeth and masticate into submission. Our goal is to keep it reasonably short, around 30 minutes (unlike most geeky podcasts which often last 1-2 hours), and once a week (again, unlike most geeky podcasts).

Revcast Fiction: This is something we've already been doing for some time now--someone reads a story from our Fiction collection, which includes original fiction by professional authors (like Michael Moorcock and Jay Lake) and classic reprints.

Revcast Feature: These will be read-aloud feature articles from the site, plus interviews. Also, we plan to interview not only celebrities, but also regular geeks with interesting stuff to say, such as active members of these Boards and weirdos we run into at cons.

Fiction and Feature Revcasts will be posted more randomly than Roundtables, but we'll put them all in the same RSS feed, so we hope to put out 1-2 podcasts per week.

And just to add to the awesomeness, our theme music is provided to us by our good friends, Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, the rockingest Cthulhu-worshiping heavy-metal band in the cosmos, who are also providing the soundtrack for the new Penny Arcade Adventures videogame.

So please give it a listen and tell us what you think. We are, after all, still amateurs at this podcast thing, and your feedback will help turn us into mellifluous professionals. Also, we'd love to hear your topic ideas, as well as your points of view on our topic discussions.

Do not pay attention to the new words, maintain your faith in the old words.

The old ways are best, fear change.

The RevolutionSF Revcast is now on iTunes! Whoo! Next, we take over the world.

You can find it by going to the iTunes Store and searching for "Revcast." You can also just click on this link.

The nice thing about this (for those of you who do not use iTunes), is that just about everyone who listens to podcasts does use iTunes, and for all its faults, it does do a good job of organizing stuff and making it easy to find and download and put it into places on your MP3 player where it won't just get lost among all those scary illegal Marilyn Manson songs and you forget you ever downloaded Episode 003 and it's just sitting there, alone and afraid, and "Beautiful People" keeps offering to show it something, and it waves frantically to get your attention but you cruise right past it and FOR PITY'S SAKE WHY DON'T YOU HELP IT!?!

So, um, yeah.
