One of the founding fathers of science fiction and a social crusader, H. G.
Wells (1866-1946) was the author of many novels including The Time Machine (1895), War of The Worlds (1898), The Invisible Man (1897), The Shape of Things To Come (1933). Wells has been
the subject of several biographies and has even appeared as a character in books
and films. The numerous films made from his works include Island of
Lost Souls (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), The
War of the World (1953), and The Time Machine (1960).
2002 will see the release of a new version of The Time Machine.
