Six Degrees of Cheech and Chong to King Kong
Contest Hosted by Joe Crowe

Cheech Marin was in Ghostbusters II, which is set in the same city as King Kong. One degree. HA! (viewaskew33@aol.com)

The same city? Bah! You mortals continue to vex me.

Cheech had a cameo role (three in fact) in the Tarantino vampire flick From Dusk Till Dawn, staring George "the REALLY bad Batman" Clooney. Clooney costars Matt Damon in Oceans Eleven (which is better than Oceans Ten). Damon costared Ben Affleck in, pick a movie, any movie, Dogma. Affleck stared the the blatant anti-truck driver propaganda film Reindeer Games (pick ten tapes from the shelf and count the number of times a trucker does something stupid or evil, it's alarming), which coostared hot red-head Charlize Theron. Theron stared in big monkey remake Mighty Joe Young, which was a ripoff of big Kongmeister. Cheech to George to Matt to Ben to Charlize to Joe to Kong. (richard_the_shaggy_dog@hotmail.com)

Cheech Marin was in The Lion King. Matthew Broderick played the Adult Simba, and also was in Godzilla. Godzilla beat on King Kong in King Kong vs. Godzilla. WOO!

Of course, if you're anal, and want both Cheech AND Chong....Cheech and Chong were both in Yellowbeard with Eric Idle, who played Wreck-Gar inna Transformers movie. Megatron=Frank Welker (Our Hero). He was also the voice of the various Godzilla creatures in the Matthew Broderick Godzilla movie. Gojira still whomped on the ass of King Kong. (kjkearney@home.com)

Paul Reubens was in Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams.
1) Paul Reubens was also in Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas with Tim Curry.
2) Tim Curry worked with Rene Auberjonois on The Little Mermaid AND the Gabriel Knight 3 game.
3) Rene Auberjonois was in the '76 version of King Kong. (crow_steve@hotmail.com)

Rae Dawn Chong, daughter of Tommy Chong, was in Crying Freeman with Mako. Mako was in Tucker with Jeff Bridges, who was in the 70's remake of King Kong. Mako, baby, M-A-K-O!! (jeremy@lemmingventures.com)

Ok. I won't view Cheech and Chong as one element. Not gonna do it... so here goes. Tommy Chong is on That '70s Show with Kurtwood Smith (Red) who is also a voice on the Justice League (The Persecutor?). Also on that show is Rene Auberjonois, yes, Odo, who does a voice, or so I've heard. Rene Au..ois was also in King Kong back in the 1976 version.

Cheech Marin was in From Dusk Til Dawn 3 times with Harvey Keitel who was in Pick-Up Artist with Dennis Hopper. Now Dennis Hopper was that bug eyed kid in the background in Rebel Without a Cause with Sal Mineo who played the doofy best friend. He was in a movie called Rock, Pretty Baby with Fay Wray who was in the 1933 version of King Kong.

And, as a side note Ron Jeremy can be linked to Cheech, Chong and Fay Wray in 2 steps each.(blibfield@ic.sunysb.edu)

This is kind of convuluted, bear with me: Cheech Marin, who starred in all of the C&C movies, also did a guest voice for the Tracey Ullman show. The Tracy Ullman Show spawned The Simpsons, of which Phil Hartman was a notable guest voice. Phil Hartman cameo'd in So I Married an Axe Murderer so did Charles Grodin. Charles Grodin was in the '76 version of King Kong. (motherfilker@hotmail.com)

In King Kong (1976), we have Rene Auberjonois, who links to Robert Guillaume on Benson. Robert Guillaume was a voice in The Lion King along with Cheech Marin of Cheech and Chong. (nettroll@email.com)

The following two didn't get to the goal the quickest, but I enjoyed the presentation. You may both receive a 5-minute break from the Tree of Woe.

Lou Adler directed Up in Smoke, and also directed The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The first line of the song "Going Home" in tRHPS is "Whatever happened to Fay Wray?", the answer being "King Kong took her up to the top of a big building."
Alternative version: Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira) was in Get Out Of My Room, and also starred in Heartstoppers, a documentary about horror movies featuring clips of everyone's favourite giant ape in action...
Either way, one person linking to a movie with a reference to King Kong. Woohoo! (ciaran_conliffe@hotmail.com)

Fay Wray was in KING KONG
Fay Wray was in Tammy and the Bachelor with Leslie Nielsen
Leslie Nielsen was in How to Commit Marriage with Bob Hope.
Bob Hope was in The Road to HONG KONG
Bob Hope was also in Spies Like Us with Dan Ackroyd
Dan Ackroyd was in Dragnet with Tom Hanks.
Tom Hanks was in Forrest Gump, in which he played PING PONG.
Bing Crosby, who was in The Road to Hong Kong, was also in Pepe with Judy Garland.
Judy Garland was in The Wizard of Oz, where they sang "DING DONG the witch is dead."
Dan Ackroyd was also in Ghostbusters II with Cheech Marin,
who was in quite a few CHEECH AND CHONG movies. (gtfirefly@hotmail.com)
