Caprica is canceled. Kaput. Kicked to the curb. The one-season old Battlestar Galactica prequel is now in the same boat as Galactica 1980..

The news came about one day after Syfy ordered up a sequel to the prequel, Battlestar Galactica : Blood and Chrome.. Here's the RevSF news story about that.

This is the sci-fi TV equivalent of being told "I like you like that," and then the next day saying, "I like you but I don't like you like you."

The remaining five episodes of the show will air in 2011. Until then, you get nothin'. You can post your bitter recriminations at RevSF's Caprica message boards.

In this interview, creator David Eick says they were "a little too reluctant" to put the words "Battlestar Galactica" in the Caprica title.
