Syfy is doing more stuff before Battlestar Galactica. Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome will star young Adama in the Cylon War.
To recap: They finished the story. Then on Caprica they started the story. So this will be the middle.
Creator David Eick explains further in this interview.
It will be about war, hopefully, with more fighting and less divine ordination stuff and less talking stuff. It's a 2-hour pilot. So it's not a series yet, but it could be, especially if Adama is super hot to look at.
Most importantly: I hope we learn the origin of the Sweet Adama Mustache.
A new character is a lady Adama meets in the pilot and "connects deeply with." Eick said, there will be Easter eggs for BSG fans, but the show is for new fans. New fans who will have no idea what's going on.
Eick blamed the Blood and Chrome title on writer Michael Taylor. He said, "We’d been calling it "The Young Adama project," and then one day the script shows up with that wild and provocative title."
One day after Taylor watched Spartacus: Blood and Sand?
There are no copyrights on titles with Blood in them. But the "Blood And . . . " form is recent and rather popular. The "provocative" title has already been done.
They should have called it How I Met Apollo's Mother.
