Torchwood, a Doctor Who spinoff with alien invasions instead of time travel, is in the works for a US version. On Fox. The network that invented the phrase "Sci-Fi Death Zone."
In other words, it'll be just like The Office, except with about 100 fewer episodes.
But the news has a smidgen of good news. Show creator Russell Davies and his people are all working on it. And star John Barrowman may play Captain Jack in it.
Meanwhile, the ex-Doctor, David Tennant will be on an NBC show. Unless Jay Leno wants to replace him.
The non-American and excellent Torchwood is still around and buyable on DVD, though.
Fox has a big, wide-open Friday night spot now that Dollhouse is pining for the fjords.
The gaping vortex of the Sci-Fi Death Zone is waiting desperately, hungrily. Torchwood<>/i> is not a confirmed deal to air any time soon. So it's pretty likely that another sci-fi show could air on Fox and get canceled first.
