Sci-Fi Movie Preview : 2009-2012
© Joe Crowe
February 24, 2009

We know you're all super-busy, so let's just go ahead and knock out this preview of nerd-related movies for the next three years.

Sherlock Holmes

Dec. 25, 2009

I don't go to see movies on Christmas Day. I'm always stuffed from my consumption of presents and sweet potato casserole.

I want to see this movie, but cranberry sauce sits heavy.

Clash of the Titans

March 26, 2010

I could argue that the Ray Harryhausen version nailed it and no one should remake it. But I want more more kraken..

Iron Man 2

May 7, 2010

A sequel! Why do we need a sequel? It's been done! I wonder if Alvin will get in trouble in this one. Or maybe make Dave yell his name. Is another chipmunk going to eat poop this time?

Twilight: Eclipse

June 30, 2010

I liked Twilight better when it was called Every Other Vampire Story Ever.

Jonah Hex

Aug. 6, 2010

I like cowboys. I like DC Comics. I like DC Comics cowboys. The best news is if this movie takes off, Balloon Buster cannot be far behind.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1

Nov. 19, 2010

I can't wait! If only there was some way to find out the story before the movie comes out!

Green Lantern and Smurfs

Dec. 17, 2010

Awesome comic book superhero or cartoon I watched way more than necessary during the 80s.

"In brightest day, in blackest night."

"La LA la la la la la la la la la la."

How can I possibly make this unbearable choice? Green Lantern. Hey, that was easier than I thought.

Chance this movie will come out with no further drama: It's still a DC superhero movie that isn't Batman. I'll believe it when I sit in the theater and Green Lantern appears on the screen and tears of joy fall into my 75-dollar popcorn.

Spider-Man 4

May 6, 2011

I hope Eric from That 70s Show comes back!

Captain America

July 22, 2011

Oh, baby.

Thor

June 17, 2011

I can say with minimal hyperbole that I will see this movie one thousand times.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the other part)

July 15, 2011

Now it won't compete with Avengers. So I guess I have to see it.

The Avengers

May 4, 2012

Eat it, adaptation of book that had no pictures!

RevolutionSF's Joe Crowe is simple as can be.

What number appears here?

For shame! How could you write about a Clash of the Titans remake and NOT use the phrase, "Let's get Kraken!"? I hang my head upon this day.

Joe, my only problem with seeing Thor will be how to sneak my mock Uru hammer in. HomeInsec has made fandom so difficult, in small ways. :-(

No more Kraken for you! You took the last piece at the Christmas party, and besides, it gives you gas!!! And Harumph. All that noise and color and no new space opera. poopie.
