RevolutionSF Newsblast : Gambit, Planet of the Apes, RickRoll

RevolutionSF Newsblast provides sci-fi journalism with extra sarcastic value. Today's sponsors: Macy's Thanskgiving Day parades with He-Man and Marvel superheroes. I promise neither clip is a RickRoll. Or do I?.

Live Action Gambit! Live Action Gambit! Live Action Gambit!

Empire magazine has the first pictures of live action Gambit from the Wolverine movie, which will have no room for Wolverine in it.

Dig the purple shirt! That Gambit is soooo dreamy. He could kinetically charge an inanimate object and throw it at me any time.

Semos Preserve Us: Another Apes Movie

Hot dog, more prequels! The president of Fox Tim Rothman said on the Fox Movie Channel that "we are very close" to script for a new Planet of the Apes. Is that a threat? That sounds like a threat. And it will involve "social thematics" but in the present day. Which means it's a remake of Conquest and a prequel at the same time! That's two overused movie ideas in one!

Hollywood Auction 33: Whips, Hats, and Robin

If you have thousands of bucks lying around doing nothing nice for you, bid on expensive costumes worn by actors in the Profiles In History auction. You'll have to flip through a lot of Greta Garbo pictures to get to the good stuff. But lot 260 in Hollywood Auction 33 is an original Robin costume from the Batman TV show. And Marlon Brando's super-suit from Superman: The Movie is there, too. Oh, the stories those costumes could tell. Like "I remember the time Burt didn't take a shower before putting me on."

RevolutionSF's Joe Crowe knows the game.
