David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury No Longer Not on DVD
OMG YOU GUYS. The 1998 TV-movie where David By God Hasselhoff beat Samuel L. Jackson by 10 years to
Nick Fury will be released at Best Buy on the same day the
Iron Man DVD comes out, Sept. 30.
Bear in mind that in 1998, X-Men was a couple of years away. Hasselhoff, at the time, was the biggest star Marvel had ever gotten to do anything.
I want to shake the hand of that nerd at Best Buy who thought of this. At long last! Something has been rescued from the convention bootleg tape tables! Can the unaired Justice League pilot be far behind? Yes, very far. But I shall take my victories where I can get them.
Green Hornet Star Suddenly Makes People Like Green Hornet
Director of
Kung Fu Hustle Stephen Chow will direct and play super-bad sidekick Kato in Seth Rogen's
Green Hornet. Now everybody's all "I love Green Hornet" and "I can't wait to see Green Hornet" like they're so cool.
I saw the 1960s TV show that everyone mentions in every Green Hornet story, in Batman reruns and on (ahem) not exactly legal tape. Before anybody knew anything about Green Hornet, I knew. I guarantee there were as many as four or five other nerds in the world who also knew. So you ain't cool. We're cool.
Will Smith Laughs About Playing Captain America When It's Really A Very Serious Issue, I Mean, Come On
Remember back when Internet rumors were never debunked? When chat rooms were virtual cesspools of rants and bad grammar, cluttered with untruths and bullcrap? Today chat rooms are exactly the same, but now Internet folk find celebrities and ask them directly. Case in point: Some MTV guy asked the Fresh Prince if he was, as rumored, going to
play Captain America. It just shows you how life gets flip turned upside down.
