Farscape Comic Book Like Farscape, But It Doesn't Move Or Make Sounds
A
Farscape comic book debuts in November, under the watch of creator Rockne O'Bannon. The series is written by Keith
DeCandido, tie-in novel writer (including
Supernatural and
Buffy). He also wrote the introduction for
Assembled, the book about the Avengers that I, Joe Crowe, wrote parts of.
O'Bannon said it's a sequel to Peacekeeper Wars, and it will involve stories they couldn't do on the show, like go to Rigel's world Hyneria, which would have been all-Muppet.
"We had one episode where there was a second Hynerian, and that was just killer," he said. And imagine how the puppets felt. All day long. Someone's hand where few want it.
Shatner On Lack of Shatnition in New Star Trek
William Shatner appears upon the Internet with his daughter Liz, and in this
Shatnicious video he disputes JJ Abrams' claim about his refusal to do a cameo.
Shatner said he didn't want a cameo, but they didn't ask him to do one. Then he gets fired up like Mama said it be crazy time, and Liz plays along. She has this knowing look that says "My father is insane." Highly recommended.
The Sounds of Buffy
The music of
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is now in convenient iTunes
and Amazon form. So now we can imagine we're watching a
Buffy episode without the distraction of actors and dialogue.
The soundtrack has selections from multiple seasons. We all remember "Twice The Fool," right? And the catchy "Kralik's House." But wait! There's also "Golf Claps." Now how much would you pay?
Batgirl Said Naughty Words and Everyone Freaked Out
DC Comics had to destroy issues of
All-Star Batman because naughty words
got loose. Writer Frank Miller is the
300 and
Spirit movie guy, but we comics fans have known about him for like 25 years already. He put in the real cuss words, so they could be blacked out properly, but they
showed through.
After society collapsed because of it, Miller was awesome about it. He said, "My first reaction is simple. I want at least three copies."
To make sense of it all, Conan O'Brien brought in Batman.
