Smallville To Feature Live-Action Legion of Superheroes, My Face Blowing Off

Every year on Smallville, they whomp up a new live-action DC Universe character to distract me from everything else on the show. This season will feature an episode with the Legion of Superheroes.

They already appeared on Justice League Unlimited, Superman: the Animated Series and their own cartoon. The Legion are young Superman's teenage superhero pals from the future, from back in the 1950s when you could have teenage superhero pals from the future and no one would call you a loon.

Episode writer Geoff Johns says the Legion flight rings with the little L on them will be there and everything. Oh, baby.

Geoff Johns writes JSA, Flash, Green Lantern and nearly every other book that I like from DC. It's like he found my letters and read each one out loud.

But you might say, Smallville is yesterday's news, and the Legion is an arcane comic-book concept that no one cares about. To you I say: Get your poo-poo out of my punch bowl.

RevolutionSF's Joe Crowe admires Cosmic Boy's bold use of color.
