Heroes Soundtrack Contains Bowie, Dylan, Others We Do Not Hate

Heroes will have a soundtrack. Who knew they did those anymore? CDs, I mean.

So if you like the Heroes, now you can contribute to their official swag on March 18.

The theme is there, along with two other tracks by Wendy and Lisa, who wrote it. They were with Prince and the Revolution. We have to support them, because we named our site after them.

Bob Dylan's "Man in the Long Black Coat" is on it, and so is David Bowie's "Heroes," naturally.

It's the original by Bowie, not the one the Wallflowers did for Matthew Broderick vs. Godzilla.

No "Jukebox Hero" by Foreigner, though. What's up with that?

But it will have the first new song by Jesus and Mary Chain in years. Jesus and Mary Chain! I'm flashing back to high school! Help meeee . . .

Also there: Wilco, Nada Surf, My Morning Jacket, Imogen Heap, Chemical Brothers, Panic! At the Disco, and Death Cab for Cutie.

This is my trouble with most soundtracks. Most of the songs have nothin' to do with the show, have never been on the show, and the songs are not about anything from the show.

So the soundtrack folks will attempt to fight me on this, by making five of the songs into montage videos with scenes from the show.

Like everybody does on YouTube, except these you have to pay for.
