RevolutionSF Newsblast is a day's worth of happy news and things you may have already heard about. But not this way. Not this way!
Getting Enough Iron
If you haven't seen the pictures of the
sweet gray Iron Man armor, then here you go.
If you have, here they are anyway. There, there. Enough tears! The movie will be here someday. Too bad that nigh-legendary clip from the movie is gone; the one that got on the Internets so briefly, then got ripped out of our hands, much like taking geek candy from a dork baby.
But here on RevolutionSF, we give and give and never take, unlike everywhere else on the Internet. Linkage to all of these were found by our gregarious and good-smelling RevolutionSF board
residents.
Steam Cleaning
Steampunk robots fightin'. It'll do you right.
Showing the Lovecraft
A group called Gravehill is producing their first feature-length movie, based on HP Lovecraft's 1930 short story
The Whisperer in Darkness. Their site says it'll be on DVD by Halloween. There's a trailer. Warning: Blood. Another warning: Old dude in a cloak.
Magazines That Weirded Me Out
Dark Horse is bringing back two magazines that my mom wouldn't let me get when I was a younger human,
Creepy and
Eerie. They were black and white oversized magazines crammed next to the motorcycle mags in the Harco or the Big B or the Eckerd, and they had horror and probably other stuff that would have stunted my growth. To save money, they will combine the books into one. It will be called
Eepie.
Unforgivable Buffy Tease
Joss Whedon said his long-promised Giles TV-movie
Ripper is a possibility for a 90-minute BBC movie. But there's no set deal yet. So thanks a lot for mentioning it at all, Whedon. Either poop new live-action
Buffy stuff or get off the
Buffy pot.
Bruce Campbell On Notice
Speaking of people whom we must follow slavishly to the very edge of the abyss: Bruce Campbell. He's got a job! The show is on USA, it's
Burn Notice. It's about a spy. But that's not important now. Watch it.
Bruce Campbell.
Feeding the Beast
The
Witchblade anime is coming out on DVD. It's 24 episodes made in Japan, based on the American comic by Top Cow. Finally, we give the Japanese something they can use. This has fighting, boobulous women, and anime. In other words, everything a young man could want. While watching it, he can hang out with all the boys.
Full Nelson
Mike Nelson and
MST3K partners do a new talking over movies funnily thing. It's called
Film Crew. This time they inflict verbal guffaws and titters upon the movie
Hollywood After Dark.. I bet that it is delightful. Also good: The gang's Rifftrax.
It's for when you've listened to all the Rifftrax, and you absolutely must have someone talking over what you watch or you'll whomp yourself in the head.
Left Arm, Get Up!
I have watched this about 18 times already, and my goodness. It's a sketch called Fantastic Four:
The Musical. The Thing's solo is a thing of beauty. So to speak.
