Six Degrees of Johnny Cash to Men in Black
Contest Hosted by Joe Crowe, November 20, 2003

Five Degrees:

Tom Petty was a guest star on Johnny Cash's Solitary Man album. Petty was in The Postman with Kevin Costner. Costner was in Bull Durham with Tim Robbins. Tim Robbins was in Nothing to Lose with Martin Lawrence, who was in Bad Boys with Will Smith of Men in Black. (mntlward42@earthlink.net)

Four Degrees:

Johnny Cash starring as himself in the documentary Johnny Cash! The Man, His World, His Music (1969). Bob Dylan, also in the Cash documentary, wrote three songs for the movie High Fidelity (2000), "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You", "Most of the Time" and "Shooting Star". In High Fidelity, Jack Black plays Barry, and also Rick in The Cable Guy (1996). Jim Carrey, The Cable Guy, also plays the villain Edward Nygma (E. Nygma, get it?), AKA The Riddler in Batman Forever (1995). Tommy Lee Jones plays another bad guy in Batman Forever, Two-Face Harvey Dent, and the good guy in Men in Black (1997) as Agent K. (pennyc@ameritech.net)

Three Degrees:

Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson were in The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James. Willie Nelson and Tommy Lee "Agent K" Jones co-starred in Coal Miner's Daughter. (thezodiac@sympatico.ca)

Two Degrees:

Tommy Lee Jones was in The Hunted, narrated by Johnny Cash. Two Degrees. What's the difference between the two? Johnny Cash is dead and STILL makes better music than Will Smith. (the_lurkster@yahoo.com)
